Yes, you are kind and respectful to others. Yes, you care about their feeling. Yes, you try to make them happy with your efforts. There is nothing bad in it. . But what if your this habit becomes obsession. And that destroys your own self-esteem and mental health. Starting from frustration, to feeling helpless in expressing on thoughts and opinion. It all happens when you ignore your own happiness for people. Be kind always to people but not at cost of your own self-esteem. Set boundaries and stick to them, that's a fair deal. Moreover, you don't need to prove your worthiness to every person. We can't satisfy all of them. So it's good to set the boundaries and never drop the head.

Who Holds The Key to Your Happiness?

I wasn’t happy for the past few days. It was not because of me, but of someone else. I put the key to my happiness into someone else’s pocket. Let me tell you, depending too much and expecting too much from others will disappoint you to a bad extend.

People say, "don't expect too much because expectations are the sole reason for all our disappointments". But in fact, we do expect from our closest ones, right? I do so.

Sometimes we let other people control our happiness in life. Whether it’s a romantic partner that we’re dating on or a friend that we’re spending too much time with, depending on someone else to lift your mood every day isn’t healthy. In fact, it’s detrimental.

By putting your happiness in the hands of other people, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. I mean, everybody else is so busy focusing on their own stuff that it’s not smart to rely on other people to pick you up all the time. They’d probably end up neglecting you and making you feel worse about yourself.

To be frank, I have a bad habit of expecting what I give out to be reciprocated, when it’s not I get disappointed. I’m learning to get over this as digging in someone else’s pocket to get it back looks really weird.

It might take you a while to realize that for the other person your happiness is not that important. Nobody else can keep the key of your happiness safe in their pocket; they will drop it every time intentionally or unintentionally.  Because your happiness is just an option for them, not a priority. Remember

It is a fact that our happiness relies on our dear and near ones but don’t rely too much on them. Please don’t ever be so vulnerable so that all your happiness gets collapsed because of a single person.

Our happiness is our responsibility. Happiness is an inside job. Don’t assign anyone else that much power over your life. If you are happy, then you are like a mirror because you will reflect the same happiness to others. Don't let stupid acts of the people around you break your inner peace and happiness.

So, Who Holds The Key to Your Happiness? Is that you or someone else? Think.
